The BLM has postponed their planned roundup of over 75% of the herd of wild horses in the Onaqui HMA in Utah until sometime in 2019. Phew! While this is only temporary, it gives us time to keep advocating for the scientifically grounded, viable, cheaper, and more humane alternatives for population management. And it gives me another season to photograph these iconic and beautiful wild horses I’ve photographed and fallen in love with over the years. Many herds in other locations were not so lucky, and we continue the struggle on all fronts, but for now, I celebrate this news.
